FEAR Live on SNL, 1981

FEAR played on Saturday Night Live back in 1981 (10-31) by request of big fan John Belushi. The crowd consisting of kids from Washington DC and NYC went so nuts on the set that ultimately they cut the segment short and never had a similar band ever since. This video features all four tracks, quality of the first song “I Don’t Care About You” is rough (this is from two sources), but the rest of the set is great and messy as hell: Enjoy Philo Cramer’s unique twisted guitar solo playing (and outfit!) on “Beef Boloney”, Derf Scratch’s one on “New York’s Alright If You Like Saxophones” and “Let’s Have A War”(cut). Spit Stix hard drumming and Lee Ving’s loudmouth are always greatly enjoyable as well… Fear’s original and ultimate lineup!

I don’t remember this at all.  This must have been after I noticed SNL wasn’t funny anymore and I quit watching.

The Clash - Sandinista!, with its rather unwieldy lyric sheet.  (Bonus kudos to The Clash for covering Mose Allison.)

Man Or Astro-Man? - A Spectrum Of Infinite Scale, double 10” with slipcase.  The artwork looks like it was borrowed from 2001: A Space Odyssey but I can’t find that anywhere in the credits.
