Albert Brooks - A Star Is Bought. Cover is a working picture frame, with a stand that folds out of the back, for the 8 x 10 picture. Because who doesn’t want a photo of comedy genius Albert Brooks on their bookshelf or desk? I don’t doesn’t. That’s for sure.

Bob & Ray - On A Platter, Redd Foxx - Funn, The Allman Brothers Band - Win, Lose Or Draw. Hit at least 15 yard sales today in the fierce sun with temperatures in the low 90s, even in the early morning. These three records are all I have to show for my efforts. Got lots of good exercise, though, and only spent $1.50.
Billy Connolly - Billy And Albert, Atlantic Bridge, Cop Yer Whack For This, Solo Concert Volume Two, and Get Right Intae Him. These can be very hard to find in the US, especially where I live (not the middle of nowhere but right on the edge of it). The Internet has had a huge affect on the contents of my collection.
The Smothers Brothers - It’s Brothers Smothers Month. Promotional record with an open end interview on side one. In the column on the left are the questions you, the on-air personality, are supposed to ask. Seems like a scam but it was a fairly common practice back then. Some Beatles interview discs are quite collectible. I’m a big fan of the Smothers Brothers…really…unironically. I have all their albums and I wish they’d released more. They fought against television censorship in the 60’s and were fired for it. But they made a difference.
Monty Python Examines The Life Of Brian, The Warner Bros. Music Show. A conversation with Monty Python conducted by Dave Herman. The label doesn’t mention that George Harrison is also interviewed.
Flo & Eddie - Illegal, Immoral, and Fattening, white label promo with bio sheet and photo. I’m repeating myself (maybe you didn’t see my earlier post) but, in my opinion, this is one of the funniest rock albums ever made. Not PC. Also not safe for work. Also inappropriate for young children. Maybe you shouldn’t listen to it at all…
Flo & Eddie Meet The Wolfman. Promo 7” with booklet and sticker. Wolfman Jack interviews Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan (The Crossfires, The Turtles, Frank Zappa’s Mothers, The Phlorescent Leech & Eddie). This was released to promote their second, self titled, album. Their third album, Illegal, Immoral, and Fattening, is one of the funniest rock records ever made. I would rank it with The Bonzo Dog Band and Tenacious D. It’s that funny, though definitely not for everyone. It’s very politically incorrect.
Lily Tomlin - Modern Scream. Miss Tomlin is playing here tomorrow night. We don’t get many celebrities in our small northwest Pennsylvania town. It’s not the first time she has appeared inn rural PA, though. Part of this record was recorded in Slippery Rock, a small college town about 90 miles to our southwest. At one point on the LP some audience members ask Tomlin, in character as five year old Edith Ann, where babies come from. She says, “Don’t you know, either?…So many people have asked me that in Slippery Rock!” She then explains the facts of life (I’m assuming you all know them) and says, “Try to tell as many people as you can in town.” I find that very amusing. Unfortunately, I will miss the show. I really wanted to go but I spent all of my entertainment dollars on Record Store Day last weekend. Maybe I’ll console myself by watching All Of Me. Or Short Cuts. I love her acting with Tom Waits in that one.
